INFORMATION BOOTH AT FITZWILLIAM LTC
Tennis Ireland will be setting up an information booth in the club grounds during the National Junior Championships at Fitzwilliam LTC next week. You will be able to access information on the National Player Database, and the new Tennis Ireland Junior Ranking System. The booth will be open from 11am to 3pm on Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th. It would be great if you could drop in. If you are not around, you might let your club know, so that they can assign a committee member to come along.
Last week a supposed representative of Vodafone was calling coaches, and told some members that Vodafone have a deal with TICA to save coaches money on their mobile phone bills. This is not true. Any deals that TICA might sign with a third party will always be communicated to members first. If any person or company tells you that they have a deal with TICA, you can take it that this is not the case, unless I have previously informed you of it.
Attached to this email you will find a very interesting article asking ‘Does A Duty of Care Exist on the Tennis Court?’ Ms. Lynne Fitzsimons BL, who I want to thank very much for providing the advice, has written this piece specifically for tennis coaches. We hope to work more closely with Lynne in the future to make sure that all members are aware of their legal rights and responsibilities.
