MEMBER COMMENTS FROM OUR LAST NEWSLETTER:
Child Protection – Drills: “Totally agree Peter, another one for your list might include the name “Suicides” which I feel is totally inappropriate for kids of any age, where tragedy might have been part of their lives”.
“I totally agree with you on Red Ass. I don’t know Car Crash, thankfully”
“The older boys who used to receive coaching, when they were in charge of looking after the kids for the Summer Programme starting playing “Red Ass”, lining 12/13 year old kids up against a wall and getting the kids to fire tennis balls at their private regions. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing…one child had to go home with a severe bruise on their arm and I’m sure there were many other injuries from it”.
Preventing another tragedy: “I have put a notice at my club straight after hearing of the accident. The notice includes having the children wait inside the courts at the end of the class. Also I was always conscious of children waiting at the outside gate to be picked up as car pulled up – especially at dusk/dark. I asked this to stop. This for other reasons – possible abduction of child”.
