Dear Member,

The vast majority of our 2013 members have already rejoined for this year. If you are among this group, please ignore the following. If you have not got around to signing up for 2014, we hope that you will soon take the necessary steps to join your representative organisation for the year ahead. We will shortly change our passwords to, and only 2014 members will have access to these resources. If you have not rejoined as yet, and you are active on court, don’t forget to sort out some Public Liability Insurance – working without insurance is just not worth the risk!


Blackrock Bowling and Tennis Club has decided to extend the date by which it will accept applications for the Senior Coach post at the Club. Details: Prospective candidates must be experienced in all aspects of coaching, junior and senior members, beginner to advanced level. Contract for one year, with provision to extend subject to satisfactory performance. Apply to Bill Closing date for applications is Friday 14th February.

TCI member Willy Reynolds is running a training trip to Global Tennis Majorca during the first week of the Easter holidays. Willy writes: “we fly the 13th of April to the 20th if coaches are interested in sending players they can contact me on 086 831 2091”.


Do you know of a young coach (under 30) who deserves to be nominated for the iTPA Paul Arber Young Coaches Award? The Award is meant to provide a deserving young tennis coach with the means to expand his or her tennis fitness knowledge and expertise. Nominations are now being accepted at:


Balanced Action is a tennis coaching company that specialises in tennis specific movement. “We run coach education workshops and through coach feedback have decided to put all the content online so we can deliver the information in a clear and concise way where you can learn at your own pace”.  New Course: ABC’s Tennis Development 4-12 yrs: This course is broken down into 5 sections and is underpinned by scaling the 6 athletic footwork movements identified in tennis. And so we rolled right on into 2014. Who would have thought? And maybe this is the year you learn to serve both corners in the deuce box like Roger Federer (last year was the ad box, but it’s not too late to learn that-remember every Tennisplayer article ever published is in our Archives!)
